empowering people. AwardWith this international competition, Siemens Stiftung identifies technological innovations with potential in the most pressing categories of basic supply. A team of 18 jurors that represent renowned development organizations reviews the best entries regarding the innovative technical and entrepreneurial approach and the solutions’ potential social impact. 23 amazing solutions with great potential to solve basic supply problems have been selected from a total of 800 entries worldwide and evaluated according to rigorous criteria including technical feasibility and the potential for financial sustainability. The main winners, determined by an expert international jury, will be revealed at the Award Ceremony.

The top three winners are awarded 50,000 Euros (1st), 30,000 Euros (2nd) and 20,000 Euros (3rd). In addition, 20 runner-ups are awarded a sum of 5,000 Euros each.
